Campfire Navy Strength Gin

£11.00£251.10

Whilst the ten botanicals in Campfire Navy Strength Gin remain anchored to that of our Campfire London Dry Gin, we’ve tweaked the ratios and raised the alcohol content to deliver a bigger, bolder expression. Juniper, citrus, caramelised fruit and peppery undertones define this robust, incredibly smooth multi-award winning gin. The perfect storm… in a bottle. 57% ABV

Why so strong you ask? Navy Strength spirits were introduced to pass the British Royal Navy’s potentially explosive proofing test. Simply put, if gunpowder soaked in gin still burned it indicated that there was sufficient alcohol in the gin. Gin with less than 57% alcohol or 100% proof would prevent the gunpowder from igniting and would be rejected by the Navy as it was not deemed to be strong enough. We distill Campfire Navy Strength Gin in small batches at Puddingstone Distillery. Our desire to ensure delivery of the best product possible means we carry out every part of the process, from selecting and preparing botanicals, distilling according to our own unique process, resting (the gin and us) to bottling and labelling. Then and only then we release each of these bottled treasures from our Chilterns based distillery so they may begin their own adventure.

Recommended serves

For a tonic pairing our recommendations would be Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic and Franklin & Sons Rosemary and Black Olive Tonic but for the more adventurous try this amazing concoction of Campfire Navy Strength Gin, port and apple juice – the Red Admiral cocktail. Garnish a G&T with a slice of fresh grapefruit or a sprig of rosemary.

Packaging

Our bottle is made from 40% recycled glass and does not have a big plug of glass in the base. Less glass equates to a reduced carbon footprint during production, transit and recycling, which we all know is a very good thing.

Our bottle labels are 30% recycled fibre from a FSC certified supplier. Our stopper is recycled cork with wood also from a FSC certified supplier.

Postage packaging is cardboard and paper. Packing chips are made from corn starch and are soluble in water.

Gin refills

Once you’ve finished your bottle of delicious Campfire Navy Strength Gin pop the stopper back in and bring it into the distillery for a refill. Not only will you save £3 on your next bottle but you’ll be helping save glass, energy, fuel, cork and paper. For more info on the benefits of recycling and refilling your Campfire Gin visit our Gin News. Applies to 70cl Campfire Gin bottles which must be returned unwashed and with the original label and stopper. The bottle will be filled with the same gin.

3 reviews for Campfire Navy Strength Gin

  1. Dan S

Very smooth and doesn’t have that alcohol burn you get with cheaper navy gins. Has a juniper forward favour

  2. Peter Westbury (verified owner)

This is my go to gin. I love it. It’s my Friday evening (weekend has arrived) treat.

  3. Gary bentham

I bought this just to try, but was really impressed with the botanicals it holds. I love a gin with citric undertones and a peppery aftertaste, and this has it in perfect balance. One of the best gins I have had and will be buying g quite a bit more.
