1594 Spirit of Box Moor Gin
1594 Spirit of Box Moor is the first gin ever to be made using local Hertfordshire juniper. We’ve collaborated with The Box Moor Trust to produce a limited edition gin of just 425 bottles. The Trust has been re-introducing juniper to the area and offered us the chance to distill it in celebration of their 425th anniversary. For every bottle sold we will donate £2 to The Box Moor Trust.

1594 Spirit of Box Moor Gin is a classic London Dry style gin which combines the Hertfordshire juniper with British coriander seed, angelica root, fresh lime peel and orris root powder. The use of lime is a historical nod to the fact that Box Moor Wharf was the home of Roses Lime Cordial from 1946 till 1983.
The Box Moor Trust is a self-supporting charity that manages nearly 500 acres of grazing and amenity land on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead and Bovingdon, with a remit to maintain the area’s natural environment and wildlife on behalf of the local community.
Each of the commemorative bottles features an individually numbered tag made from paper created from used Campfire Gin botanicals. These have been handmade at the nearby Frogmore Paper Mill adding to the local provenance of our latest product.
