World Gin Awards, Country Winner Gold, Matured Gin Category 2024

Our barrel finished gin, Campfire Cask Aged, has dominant gin notes of juniper, citrus and coriander seed which are infused with a hint of caramel, fruity bourbon and vanilla. This is achieved through ageing in specially selected American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The wood also imparts a golden hue to this small batch gin. This is an oak aged gin but it’s not oaky or woody. 43% ABV

Distilled in small batches at Puddingstone Distillery our Campfire Cask Aged Gin currently rests, on average, for 22 days in American oak, ex bourbon casks sourced from Kings County Distillery, Williamsburg, NY. Our desire to ensure delivery of the best product possible means we carry out every part of the process, from selecting and preparing botanicals, distilling according to our own unique process, resting (the gin and us) to bottling and labelling. Then and only then we release each of these bottled treasures from our Chilterns based distillery so they may begin their own adventure.

Recommended serves

Our favourite serves for Campfire Cask Aged Gin are neat over ice, in an Ember Negroni or as a Gin and It cocktail with Carpano Antica Formula Italian sweet vermouth – a cocktail we call the Fireside Manhattan. It also pairs well with Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic and Fever-Tree Ginger Ale. If you don’t want too much dilution then why not freeze the mixer into ice cubes. To enjoy as a decadent cocktail our Campfire Cask Aged Gin adds depth and character to a gin Alexander cocktail.
