Domestique Gin was a finalist in the Traditional gin category, The Gin Guide Awards 2021.
You don’t need to be a cyclist to appreciate this gin, but if you are it might appeal even more. Domestique Gin leads with a fruity, citrus and juniper nose and a subtle palate that blends sweet and savoury. As for the name, in cycling terms the domestique is described as a cyclist in a road racing team whose role is to help their team leader during a race, for example by setting the pace or creating a slipstream. We’re not saying it will make you a winner but it makes a cracking gin and tonic and is perfect in a martini cocktail. 42% ABV

Craft Distillers Highly Commended Classic Gin 2018
Domestique Gin is an exceptional London Dry style using botanicals sourced from the host nations of some of the world’s greatest cycling events. Alongside the required juniper and British coriander we distill Spanish orange peel, French hops, Belgian angelica, Italian rosemary and Californian raisins. As a nod to the rural location of our distillery and the fact that the Tour of Britain has passed through Tring and the Chiltern Hills we’ve also included rosehip.
A little about the history of Domestique Gin – in 2017 we teamed up with local cycle-wear brand ashmei to create a themed small batch cycling gin whose botanicals are steeped not only in alcohol but the very spirit of cycling. Launched at the Rouleur Classic, the cycle industry’s end of season event in London, Domestique was initially a limited to 200 laser engraved, stainless steel bidons per year but due to popular demand Domestique Gin now forms part of the regular Puddingstone Distillery small batch gin range and is available in glass bottles. Each 50cl bottle is sealed with a piece of bike inner tube!
Our bottle is made from 40% recycled glass and does not have a big plug of glass in the base. Less glass equates to a reduced carbon footprint during production, transit and recycling, which we all know is a very good thing.
Postage packaging for our 70cl bottle, gift packs and gift sets is cardboard and paper. Single bottle orders of 50cl bottles are mailed in cardboard, paper and recyclable air bags (these are being phased out). Packing chips are made from corn starch and are soluble in water.
Please allow 2-3 working days to deliver. Free delivery applies on all orders over the stated amounts during relevant promotional periods. All other orders will have delivery charges of:
Via Royal Mail 2nd class signed for or APC signed for £4.96 – 70cl, 50cl, 10cl bottles, gin gift packs, gin gift sets, accessories, aperitifs and cocktail bitters
Via Royal Mail 1st class £2.50 – gin gift and tour vouchers
