Puddingstone Distillery unveils new bigger, greener bottle
This autumn sees the launch of our new bottle design for our multi-award winning Campfire Gin range.
We’ve refreshed the design and retained the simplicity and strong identity of our original Campfire bottle, but we have increased the volume from 50cl to 70cl. This latest development forms part of our growth strategy and bid to further improve our green credentials as we look to celebrate Puddingstone Distillery’s 5th anniversary later this year.
Founded in 2016 by Ben Marston and myself, Kate, our Campfire Gin range has received international recognition and multiple accolades since it first entered the market. Despite the obvious challenges of the past eighteen months, 2021 has been an incredible year for the brand. In recent months our gins have received an impressive 8 international spirits awards and the ultimate accolade of ‘Distillery of the Year’ from The Gin Guide.

The core Campfire Gin range will use the Italian glassmaker Vetroelite’s 70cl Chiara Alta bottle which is made from 40% recycled glass, as too is our current 50cl Chiara bottle which will be retained, in the short term, for limited edition product lines. The new labels were designed in-house by myself and printed locally in Aylesbury by XPress Labels. They are made from 30% recycled fibre and the stoppers are made from recycled cork with wood, both from FSC certified suppliers. We are also in the process of removing all plastic from our online delivery process in our bid to be even greener.
Commenting on the new bottles, founder Ben Marston said,
“Our new 70cl bottles offer 40% more gin but the price increase to our customers will be just a few pounds providing significantly better value. Making this change to our core product range has also enabled us to redesign our labelling and packaging thereby greatly improving our product’s environmental credentials. This year as we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we’re excited to see our Campfire products evolve. Making this change not only enables us to offer better value to our customers but will enable us to grow our business to the trade where we are looking to boost our on-shelf brand presence and visibility.”
