Campfire Special Edition No 1 raises £1326 for HMWT

We’re proud to announce that sales of our 2017 summer gin Campfire Special Edition No 1, the world’s first to use the invasive plant species, Himalayan balsam, has helped raise £1,362 for our project partner, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

£2 from every bottle sold was donated to the charity. We also held two tour events where guests took part in a nature walk around the reservoir next door to the distillery. Guided by a member of the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust the guests were given an insight into the plants and animals that inhabit the area.

The project was run to raise awareness of the damage Himalayan balsam does to our environment – crowding rare chalk streams and stopping bees pollinating our native plants. In 2018 we aim to clear more of the plants and, of course, make more gin. Thank you to everyone who purchased a bottle or came on a tour!
