Our next distillery cocktail demo will focus on shrubs, sometimes known as drinking vinegars.

In our last demo on Salt, Acid and Heat, we discussed how acid is an integral balancing component in mixology. This time round we are going to focus on its role in shrubs.

Shrubs are concentrated syrups with the acidity coming from fruit and vinegars which is balanced with the sweetness of the fruit, additional aromatics and sugar.

We’ll explore types of sugar (demerara, white, muscovado), fruits, aromatics, vinegars (apple cider, balsamic) and heated and cold steeped methods in three shrub recipes. Ben will demonstrate how to turn the shrubs into delicious Campfire cocktails with three of our Campfire Gins and you’ll get to try taster samples of each one.

For non-drinkers/drivers we will be serving non-alcoholic versions of each cocktail.

We have two sessions to choose from – 1pm and 3pm. The session will last approx 1 hour.
