New role for a distillery & production assistant

Full-time, £9/hr first three months, rising to £10/hr, will consist of some evening and weekend work.

If so, please read on… Puddingstone Distillery is a dedicated gin distillery and the home of Campfire Gin. We have a unique opportunity for a Distillery & Production Assistant to join our small team.
Main purposes of the the job
To assist head distiller with production duties and serve customers in the distillery shop.
Key tasks
- Bottling and labelling product ready for sale
- Assisting with moving heavy objects in the distillery
- Accurately recording batch and bottle numbers
- Cleaning the stills after distillation
- Accurately weighing botanicals ready for distillation
- Maintaining stock levels of botanicals and packaging
- Checking for damaged packaging and reporting any damage to the head distiller
- Packing and boxing up trade and private customer orders
- Maintaining cleanliness in distillery – mop floors, washing up, cleaning surfaces and other distillery equipment
- Tidying and cleaning down of distillery exterior, sweeping frontage and access to shop
- Making trade deliveries and reporting any observations to head distiller
- Serve customers in distillery shop – talking them through the products, production methods in brief, serving taster samples and processing payments
- Assisting at off site events – setting up/taking down gazebo/stand, serving customers and processing payments
About you
- Deadline driven
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Able to take instruction
- Have an interest in the outdoors, food and drink (especially gin), conservation
- Good local knowledge
- Ideally be over 21
- Driving licence with own transport as public transport is limited
- Can’t have an allergy to nuts
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to lift heavy items
- Non smoker
